THESE GUYS:

DARRELLS SERVICE OF TOPEKA

4300 SW 21ST STREET | TOPEKA, KS 66604

DO NOT USE THEM.

They tell you one price twice..but when you get there to pay.. suddenly the price is $135.00 OR ALMOST 30 PERCENT HIGHER THAN QUOTED "AS FIRM" ON THE PHONE??

They recently ripped me off attempting to fix my AC twice in two months. Hint: it still isn't working properly. So it's nothing to pay for a stupid domain for $12.00 to bitch and moan..If you have the server space and ten minutes to spare.

Twice on the phone May 8, they told me the total would be $319.00. When I arrived at the shop, suddenly, magically I might add, the bill was $455.00. They tried to give me the usual repair shop runaround. But I left with the car, knowing I'd get a call from the TPD. I did and I paid those bastards the entire amount the next day. Theft of NON-Service. This is after they charged me $200 plus back in MARCH to fix the AC. (Reason why I brought it back May 8).

Here's the deal: I am sick of the subpar service mentality that has crept into virtually every aspect of commerce lately. They admitted they told me the $319.00 price, yet they still demanded the 454 and change to bail my car out of there. Did they graduate from the George Santos school of business?

Consumer complaint filed with KS AG and BBB/NE KS., May 10. UPDATE:

Their BBB response was that they never fixed the AC back in March and that they put coolant in there. That's not how it went down. After waiting an hour and change, the tech said the problem was in the "ports" in the back of the engine under the hood and said he had replaced them because they were clogged. Tip for the next sucker: remember to see the old parts.

Again, they said I was charged for the diagnostic. That's true, but on the phone, we agreed that the repair costs-which INCLUDES FINDING THE PROBLEM--would cost me $319. Remember the numbers $319 versus $454, $319 v $454, $319v $454 ... get it?
